Abdulsalam meets German ambassadors to Yemen, Oman

MUSCAT, Oct. 29 (YPA) – Head of the national negotiating delegation Mohammed Abdulsalam on Tuesday met in Muscat with German Ambassador to Yemen Carola Mueller Holtkemper and German Ambassador to Oman Thomas Schneider.

In the meeting, they discussed the political situation in Yemen and the United Nations’ efforts for the settlement.

The meeting dealt with the initiative announced by President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat for achieving peace and stability, as well as the initiative of releasing hundreds of war prisoners and detainees, which reflected the keenness on achieving peace and ending the humanitarian file of prisoners.

On the political context experienced by the parties affiliated with the aggression coalition, Abdulsalam said that the partial solutions resulting from those compromises cannot withstand on the ground because the aggression has imposed a negative reality on the political and military level.

Abdulsalam stressed that the past experiences have proved the failure of any political dialogue in light of the continued aggression and siege.

He called on the international community to act to stop the aggression, lift the siege and support comprehensive political dialogue.
