Aggression, blockade will not bring peace to Yemen, region: Revolution Leader

SANAA, Oct. 28 (YPA) – Leader of the Revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi on Monday said that the option of aggression and blockade would not bring peace to Yemen and the region.

During his meeting with the UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths, Sayyed Abdulmalik affirmed that the current stage Yemen is going through and the catastrophic effects left by the Saudi-led coalition aggression and siege “have proved that the military option and economic blockade cannot achieve peace in Yemen or in the region.

The Revolution Leader stressed the importance of stopping the aggression, lifting the siege completely and conducting urgent humanitarian treatments at various levels, especially in the file of prisoners and detainees.

“We have made several initiatives under which hundreds of prisoners were released with the aim of helping to achieve a breakthrough leading to the release of all detainees and prisoners as agreed in the consultations in Sweden,” he said.

In this regard, Sayyed Abdulmalik urged the United Nations to do its role in considering the general situation that leads to stop the aggression on the country, lift the siege and achieve peace and stability.

He reiterated that “a comprehensive peace and a just solution is the most correct option to address all the imbalances.”
