SANAA, Oct. 26 (YPA) – At least 15 Taliban militants and 10 soldiers were killed during clashes in Eshkamish district of Takhar province in northern Afghanistan.
“The clash broke out after a group of Taliban gunmen stormed security checkpoints in Khawaja Bendksha district in the troubled area in the early hours of Friday,” Governor Abdul Qayum Qani told Xinhua.
The clashes left 15 gunmen and 10 security personnel dead and three other Afghan security personnel injured.
Takhar’s provincial police spokesman Abdul Khalil Asir stated that six national police security personnel were killed.
He confirmed that Taliban militants fled after the clashes.
