Al-Mortada: 600+ prisoners from both sides freed since end of Sweden’s consultations

SANAA, Oct. 25 (YPA) – The Chairman of the National Committee for Prisoners Affairs Abdul Qader Al-Mortada confirmed that more than 600 prisoners from both sides have been freed through exchanges through local mediation and understandings since the end of Sweden’s consultations.

“No prisoners have been freed through the United Nations despite the agreement signed by the parties under their auspices and under their supervision in Sweden,” al-Mortada said in his tweet.

The prisoners’ file is stalled because of the coalition’s forces that reject the exchange of all for all or through successive payment, which made the file of the prisoners stuck and the United Nations do not do anything.

It is noteworthy that al-Mortada announced on the 30th of last month the release of 350 prisoners of coalition’s mercenaries, including three Saudis in a unilateral step under the auspices of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, noting that the initiative falls within the Swedish agreement on prisoners.

Al-Murtada said in a press conference in the capital Sanaaو “We have offered the United Nations a unilateral initiative to release 350 prisoners and detainees included in the statements of the Swedish agreement of the other party.”
