SANAA, Oct. 21 (YPA) – The Supreme Economic Committee on Monday called for the United Nations to accelerate the fulfillment of its economic commitments in Sweden agreement with regard to the payment of salaries to all the state staff.
In its statement issued Monday, the Committee explained that the United Nations is obliged, according the Sweden Agreement, to perform its duty to control revenues in the salary account, cover the deficit and supervise the payment of salaries of all state employees.
The Committee confirmed its full readiness to disclose the revenues to the salaries account monthly and with absolute transparency.
“We ask those who claim to be keen to pay salaries to reveal the fate of one trillion and 720 billion riyals printed without cover during the past two years,” said the Committee.
It demanded a clarification and reply to the questions of the Yemeni people about the ambiguity surrounding the fate of more than 616 billion Yemeni riyals, equivalent to one billion and 400 million dollars, that have been drained from the so-called Saudi deposit and where it was spent.
The Committee called on the other party to disclose the fate of public revenues in the occupied territories, namely the revenues of crude oil, natural gas, ports, customs, taxes and the rest of revenues, which had been covering more than 75% of the state budget.
