PM, FM discuss developments in relationship with UNSC

SANAA, Oct. 19 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor on Saturday discussed with Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf the latest developments in Yemen’s relations with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

The meeting touched on the SC’s most recent meeting held last weekend, during which UN Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths and UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Mark Mark Lowcock presented their briefing on relief, humanitarian and political efforts in Yemen.

Sharaf explained that the Foreign Ministry continues to communicate with the UN envoy, the UN Secretary General and members of the UNSC’s current session, including the five permanent members, on many issues related to the humanitarian situation in Yemen, especially with regard to the policy of starvation and siege adopted by Saudi-led aggression coalition.

The Foreign Minister gave a detailed explanation on the Ministry’s efforts during the past two months and its program for the coming months in the aspect of media activity and external communication.

In the meeting, Dr. bin Haboor urged more efforts to open new channels of communication with international human rights and media organizations and any parties that can convey the reality of the situation in Yemen and the inhuman practices of the aggression coalition to the international community.
