UAE ousts top security chief in Abyan, sends 3 military brigades

ABYAN, Oct. 12 (YPA) – The UAE Occupation forces on Saturday pushed three military brigades to Abyan province, southern Yemen, local sources reported.

According to local sources, the UAE sent three military brigades were brought from the West Coast Front, left Aden and arrived in the Sheikh Salem area on the outskirts of Zinjibar city in the past hours.

The sources confirmed that the UAE’s dispatch of military brigades to Abyan comes in conjunction with the appointment of Ahmed Nasser Salem al-Asiri, as a commander of the so-called security belt forces in Abyan, instead of Abdul Latif Al Sayed, who has already rejected a decision to appoint Yasser Al-Yafei as his successor.

This decision caused a regional elimination to expand between the sons of Abyan and Yafa’a in Lahj.

The sources explained that the position of al- Sayed about the decision was not clear under the pressure of the UAE, which he is receiving this time to send three military brigades in order to implement the decision by force of arms and accept it by Sayed.

Tribal sources also suggested that al- Asiri’s appointment comes within the framework of Saudi orders, stressing the association of the leader Ahmed Nasser Salem al-Asiri, a member of al-Qaeda and linked to Saudi intelligence.

Saudi Arabia divided al-Qaeda in 2011, maintaining a wing led by al-Sayed, as a warrior against the organization, which it was part of, naming its militants ” popular committees,” and Saudi Arabia was a source of funding for al-Qaeda elements in Abyan.

Saudi Arabia has a strong influence within the militias of The Sayed, which recently enabled it to reach Aden through Hadi’s forces, before the UAE was able to bomb them on the outskirts of Aden a month ago.
