Security official severely beaten in Marib by tribesmen

MARIB, Oct. 12 (YPA) – Local sources on Saturday revealed  that a security official in a police station was beaten by tribal gunmen who followed  a judicial official in the province of Marib,  “eastern Yemen” under the control of Islah militias.

According to the sources, a gang of six people attacked and severely beaten the director of research in the peace department in the city of Marib Major Ali Hadi, inside the public prosecutor’s building controlled by the Islah party militias,

They indicated that he could not even to defend himself.

According to the sources, officer “Hadi” accused one of the employees of “prosecution” named Ali al-A’awash to be behind the incident of assault on him,

He explained that Al-A’awash entered the gang and directed them to assault him.

According to al-Mawqea Post, Major Ali Hadi pointed out that the reason for the attack on him came on the background of practicing what he described as his security functions, by filing a case of an attack on an investor’s commercial building that the gang destroyed and attacked the property of others, he said.

He said he had informed the security chief of the Islah Militias in Marib of the incident of the attack, but they refused to respond.

He pointed out that he and his security team succeeded last week in thwarting an attempt to smuggle a large amount of drug  hashish, believing that there is a connection between them and the attack on him.
