Shura’s Main Committee condemns continued siege on Yemeni people

SANAA, Oct. 2 (YPA) – The Main Committee of the Shura Council on Wednesday condemned the continued siege on the Yemeni people and the arbitrary economic and financial policies pursued by Saudi-led aggression coalition forces.

This came during the committee’s meeting, which was chaired by Speaker of the Council Mohammed al-Aidarous and devoted to review the Human Rights, Public Freedoms and Civil Society Organizations Committee’s report on the situation of reformatories in the provinces.

The meeting approved the report after absorbing the observations contained in it.

At the meeting, the main committee congratulated the Revolution Leader and the political leadership on the victories achieved by the army and the popular committees in Najran fronts against the aggression coalition led by the Saudi regime and its mercenaries.

The Shura’s main committee praised the peace initiative launched by President of the Supreme Political Council and welcomed the decision of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs to release 350 prisoners of the other party from those included in Sweden Agreement lists.

In this regard, the committee called on the United Nations and the Security Council to pressure on the aggression forces to take similar steps and engage credibly in the implementation of the agreement on prisoners.
