Al-Sayyed Abdulmalik discusses with UN envoy political settlement prospects
SANAA, Oct. 1 (YPA) – Leader of the Revolution al-Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi on Tuesday met with the UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths.
They discussed prospects of a comprehensive political settlement, as well as ways to address humanitarian and economic situations related the suffering of Yemeni people due to the blockade and its repercussions.
During the meeting, al-Sayyed Abdulmalik confirmed the continuation of efforts to achieve peace and stability, referring in this regard to the initiative offered by President of the Supreme Political Council, which he said the other party has to benefit from to stop the aggression and lift the siege.
The Revolution Leader indicated to the recent humanitarian initiative by the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs in Sana’a, represented by the releases of hundreds of prisoners unilaterally.
In this regard, al-Sayyed Abdulmalik stressed that there must be similar steps from the other party in order to reach a full exchange of prisoners and detainees and settle this humanitarian file.
