Minister of Agriculture meets FAO representative in Yemen

SANAA, Sept. 30 (YPA) – Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Abdulmalik al-Thour met in Sanaa on Monday with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Resident Representative in Yemen Hussein Gadain.

In the meeting, al-Thour hailed the level of cooperation and the partnership relationship with FAO and its role in supporting agricultural development paths in the country.

The Agriculture Minister confirmed the ministry’s readiness to provide facilities to enable FAO to carry out its activities and programs, especially those concerned with food security.

He expressed his hope for further support from the organization to develop the agricultural sector in order to contribute to alleviating the suffering of citizens as a result of aggression and blockade.

For his part, the FAO’s representative affirmed the organization’s keenness and willingness to provide possible support to Yemen.
