SANAA, Sept. 30 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif assured Saudi Arabia that “security cannot be bought”, and stressed that ending the war in Yemen will reduce the level of regional tension.
In an interview with IRNA on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Zarif accused Saudi Arabia of fomenting tension in the region.
“They imagine that just like they bought everything so far with money, such as arms, friendship and support, they can also buy security with money,” he said.
The Iranian minister called on the Saudis to abandon this “illusion and leave it aside”.
“Saudi Arabia is raising tensions to pave the way for foreigners to come to the region,” he said, referring to recent U.S. military reinforcements, stressing that the solution is “very clear: ending the War of Yemen,” according AFP.
“Tension sours in the region will end and Saudi Arabia’s reputation will deteriorate more than it has done so far,” he said.
