Al- Houthi confirms that President al-Mashat’s peace offer can not be broken up

SANAA, Sept. 28 (YPA) – Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, stressed that the peace offer made by President Mahdi Al-Mashat provides a complete mutual cessation of attacks and does not accept fragmentation, denying the validity of any leaks from the coalition to Western media about an agreement or partial cessation, other than the initiative announced.

Al-Houthi responded to leaks published by Western media attributed to Saudi sources, in a tweet on “Twitter” on Friday evening, saying: “President Mahdi al-Mashat’s initiative provides stated a complete cessation of aggression, and there is no validity for any leaks by the enemy about a partial cessation.”

“The leaks in some Us newspapers about an agreement with Saudi Arabia to stop air strikes on four areas remain unofficial,” he said.

Saudi Arabia, which has been leading the coalition war on Yemen since March 26, 2015, has responded to President al-Mashat’s initiative and “agreed to a ceasefire with Ansarullah ” al-Houthi” in some areas of Yemen,” the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing unnamed sources.

The Us newspaper claimed that “the new agreement provides for a ceasefire in four areas, including the capital Sanaa, which is under the control of the National Salvation government. “However, informed sources confirmed to the newspaper that the truce could extend to other parts of the country if it resists.”

The newspaper predicted that the initiative of President Mehdi Al-Mashat to stop the attacks of drones and ballistic missiles and winged on legitimate targets in Saudi Arabia in exchange for the cessation of air strikes “gave hope to Saudi Arabia and the United States that Ansarullah is seeking to distance itself from Iran.”

These unconfirmed leaks were officially announced by both sides or one of them about the so-called “partial cessation of strikes agreement”, with widespread echoes, Bloomberg reported that “oil prices fell by 1.5% following the receipt of these Western reports of a new truce.”

But Mohammed Ali al-Houthi denied the validity of these reports and leaks about the agreement on a partial cessation of coalition air raids and stressed that president Mahdi Al-Mashat’s peace initiative provides for a complete mutual cessation of attacks.

“Yemen will accept only a comprehensive cessation of aggression and the lifting of the blockade, ” he added.

Saudi leaks to the American newspapers show Riyadh’s awareness of the seriousness of the danger it faces and its economy if it does not respond to the Yemeni initiative, especially after the great effects of the attack on Aramco facilities.

The statements that followed the announcement of the initiative, from the leader of the revolution Sayyied Abdul Malik al-Houthi and the president of the Supreme Political Council

“It is in the interest of the Coalition of Aggression to take advantage of the initiative presented by the President of the Supreme Political Council, as it will stop their aggression, bombing and siege, and the army and popular committees will stop the strikes that are being carried out to the rear by drones and missiles,” Abdul Malik al-Houthi said in a statement on Saturday evening.

“As the bombing, siege and aggression continue, the most painful, deadly and most powerful strikes will reach the depths of their areas and their most important economic, oil and vital installations, and no red lines in this context, ” Sayyed Abdul Malik stressed

” He called on citizens in those areas to “take precautions”.

However, apart from Saudi Arabia’s first official reaction to the peace initiative, and Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir’s handling of the initiative by announcing Saturday, “Riyadh will monitor the seriousness of the Houthis in implementing the peace initiative they put forward.”

The Saudi-led coalition stepped up its airstrikes.

According to the Yemeni armed forces’ remarkable monitoring of coalition raids and daily announcements from Yemeni armed forces spokesman, Yahya Sare’e , the number of raids since the announcement of the initiative on the eve of September 21st have reached 223 to date, and 40 civilians have been killed and wounded.

“The other side’s engagement with the initiative announced last week has not been responsible or encouraging yet,” president Mehdi Al-Mashat Said on Wednesday in his speech marking the 57th anniversary of the September 26 revolution.
He said: “We stuck to the initiative to complete the argument and respect for the renewed calls for peace and the understanding and hope shown by some wise people.”

“We are ready for peace as much as we are ready to go through the stages of great pain and we have very limited days of patience and evaluation,” he added.

“Saudi Arabia leaked news of an agreement to stop air strikes on four cities, including the capital Sanaa, in an attempt to get the pulse of the political council and whether it would swallow the bait,” he concluded.
