Prisoners Committee’s Head reveals agreement to resume “Taiz exchange deal”
SANAA, Sept. 24 (YPA) – Head of the Prisoners Affairs Committee in Sanaa Abdulqader al-Mortada has announced about a preliminary agreement to resume the prisoner exchange deal in Taiz province, earlier foiled by Saudi-led coalition.
“We agreed with the mediators in Taiz to resume the exchange process that had previously failed,” al-Mortada said in a tweet on Monday night, referring to obstacles made by the coalition mercenaries in Taiz.
Al-Mortada continued in his tweet, saying: “The list (names of prisoners) is ready from both sides, but the mercenaries there have not yet agreed. ”
The coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates has already foiled a local exchange of 130 prisoners from both sides in Taiz, which was scheduled to be finalized before Eid al-Adha and was canceled at the last minute.
