36 patients reported dead since January 2019 in Mahwet

MAHWET, Sept. 21 (YPA) – The Health office in Mahwet province has confirmed the deaths of 36 cholera patients between the beginning of January and 16 September.

A report issued by the health office in the governorate recorded 29,625 cases of the epidemic in various districts of the province and 813 suspected cases outside the province.

The Director of the Governorate Health Office, Dr. Amin Mohammed Hubeish, praised the efforts exerted to treat patients through 10 centers and 83 other centres to receive cases, in addition to continuing to strengthen measures and procedures to face the epidemic.

He pointed out that awareness-raising and education activities continue in coordination with the Ministry of Health and relevant authorities, institutions and organisations to promote awareness of ways to prevent cholera and to combat its spread.
