Strike paralyzes work in Sanaa Lands Authority, after influential people assaults on state property
SANAA, Sept. 16 (YPA) – Employees of the Land and Survey Authority’s branch in the capital Sanaa on Monday carried out a general strike and started a sit-in until killers of guard commander of the Land Authority be arrested.
“An armed gang affiliated to one of the influential sheikhs attacked a security campaign during its working with specialists from the land authority to remove violating works in the state land and property in Shamlan area in the capital Sanaa,” said Qais Saleh, director general of the land and survey authority.
The gang’s attack resulted in the killing of the guard commander in the Land and Survey Authority Lieutenant Mohammed Awdha and the looting of a military car belonging to the authority’s branch, Saleh added.
He pointed out that such irresponsible practices greatly harm security, especially in light of the difficult security conditions in the country because of the war.
During a vigil, the authority’s employees demanded the quick arrest of the guard commander’s killers and bring the perpetrators to justice to receive their just penalty.
