PM, WHO official discuss health, water situation

SANAA, Sept. 15 (YPA) – Prime Minister Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtour met on Sunday with the WHO Representative to Yemen Altaf Musani to discuss health and water situation.

At the meeting, bin Habtour stressed on the impotence of increasing support by the organization to overcome difficulties and challenges facing the two sectors.

The officials affirmed doubling joint efforts and cooperation to back the health sector to combat the cholera epidemic through expanding a vaccination process.

The cabinet said “there is a great responsibility on the international community to exert pressure on the Saudi-led coalition countries to stop the war and lift the siege, which led to the humanitarian tragedy affects the Yemeni people.”

For his part, the UN official stressed the further partnership and coordination between the WHO and the ministries of health and water, especially in fighting the cholera epidemic.
