According to local sources in Socotra, the troops, which arrived on Friday consisted of elite Socotra youth, had travelled months earlier to the southern port city of Aden to join the military batches in the security belt forces.
They were received on Friday evening at the port of Haulaf in the midst of a majestic procession, attended by the leaders of the Southern Transitional Council (STC).
This is the second batch of the Socotra security belt.
The Transitional Council moved this batch urgently to Socotra for fear of any movements of the so-called legitimate forces and Saudi Arabia in the archipelago that might bring down the province.
