SANAA, Aug. 28 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Affairs Hisham Sharaf on Wednesday discussed with Resident Representative of the UN Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Sanaa Dr. Al-Obaid Ahmed Al-Obaid the cooperation aspects between Yemen and the office.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister reviewed the war crimes committed by Saudi-led aggression coalition and its mercenaries against civilians for the fifth consecutive year.
Sharaf stressed the need to disseminate the documented information and work to condemn those crimes and bring the perpetrators to justice.
He reiterated the Salvation Government’s call for forming an independent international committee to investigate the crimes committed against the Yemeni people since March 26, 2015, confirming the government’s readiness to provide necessary facilities for the UN office in Sanaa in order to fulfill its role as required.
For his part, Dr. Al-Obaid assured the commitment of OHCHR to provide the possible support to Yemen in the field of protection and promotion of human rights.
