Yemeni army launches attack against Saudi positions in Jizan

JIZAN, Aug. 28 (YPA) – The Yemeni army backed by popular committees on Wednesday launched an offensive on positions of Saudi troops and mercenaries hired by Saudi-led coalition in Jizan region, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the official, the attack targeted the mercenaries’ positions in the northern part of Nar Mountain, liberating several military sites.Dozens of the mercenaries were killed and wounded during the attack, the official said.

On Tuesday,the army’s artillery forces shelled gatherings of the Saudi-led mercenaries in east of Dood mountain, killing and injuring tens of them.

Furthermore, the Yemeni forces had repelled an attack of Saudi army’s mercenaries on army’s locations in the same front. The army killed and injured dozens of the mercenaries during foiling the attack, the official said.
