Health Ministry discusses introduction of hepatitis B vaccine for children in immunization programs
SANAA, Aug. 28 (YPA) – The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakkil affirmed the ministry’s interest in immunization against deadly diseases, combating and eradicating them from Yemen.
The Minister of Health, in a meeting held on Tuesday and included members of the National Advisory Committee for Immunization and Vaccines, that the community urgently needs to raise awareness of the importance of vaccination and needs encouraging programs for them and everyone should strengthen this aspect.
Al-Mutawakkil pointed out that the ministry is continuing the system of vaccination and immunization to build and protect the people of Yemen from diseases And deadly epidemics.
Al-Mutawakkil pointed out that the ministry is working and making all efforts to prevent and get rid of diphtheria and that it has campaigns in the coming days targeting areas where the disease is spread.
During the meeting, the introduction of newborn hepatitis B vaccine into the routine immunization schedule was discussed and reviewed latest regional developments regarding the vaccine and WHO recommendations.
