Over 82 thousand families benefit from food aid in capital Sanaa

SANAA, Aug. 21 (YPA) – Mayor of the capital Sanaa Hamoud Obad and Head of the National Authority for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Abdulmohsen Tawous on Wednesday inaugurated the distribution of food aid provided by the World Food Program (WFP).

The assistance distributed through the school food project targets more than 82,000 displaced and affected families and people with special needs and chronic diseases in the districts of Al-Sabeen, Ma’een, Tahrir, Al-Safiyah and Al-Wahda.

Obad noted to the importance of launching the distributing these food aid to the beneficiary families in the capital’s district, indicating that a field survey of beneficiaries to be carried out during the coming period.

For his part, Tawous said that the resumption of the distribution of food aid in the capital came after a puse, and after the signing of an understanding agreement with the WFP according to a specific mechanism adopted by both sides.
