Resigned Hadi’s camps controlled by UAE-backed militias in Abyan

ABYAN, Aug. 20 (YPA) – So-called the Southern Transitional Council’s militias backed by United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday attacked and took over the headquarters of the Saudi-backed resigned Hadi’s special forces in Abyan province, according to military sources.

According to the sources, the raid came after fierce fighting between the militias and Hadi’s forces, which led to withdrawal by a commander loyal to Saudi Arabia Mohammed al-Aoban towards Lawder city after tribal mediation.

The source said a commander loyal to the UAE Abdulrahman al-Shanini was injured during fierce clashes in Zinjibar district.
