Update 1: Yemeni army destroys Saudi Abrams tank in Jizan

JIZAN, Aug. 8 (YPA) – The Yemeni army backed by Popular Committees on Thursday managed to destroy an Abrams military tank belonging to Saudi-led coalition in Jizan region, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the official, The Saudi Abrams tank was destroyed by a kornet rocket in the eastern part of Dood Mountain, killing and injuring all those on board.

Earlier in the day, dozens of the mercenaries were killed and wounded during their foiled infiltration attempt on the army positions in the same area.

Meanwhile, the engineering unit bombed gatherings of the mercenaries in the same area which increased the number killed and forced the rest of the attackers into retreat.

The official confirmed that the attack lasted for several hours with the participation of military and reconnaissance aircraft without making any significant progress on the ground.
