Shura Council selects al-Janadi, al-Bukhaiti as Deputy Speakers

SANAA, Aug. 7 (YPA) – The Shura Council’s presidium on Wednesday held an extraordinary meeting chaired by the Council’s Speaker Mohammed al-Aidarous.

In the meeting, both Abdo Mohammed al-Janadi and Mohammed Nasser al-Bukhaiti both chosen by an absolute majority as Deputy Speakers of the Shura Council.

This step comes within the framework of the political leadership’s directives to activate the legislative and executive authorities and the state institutions and strengthen the institutional work in this exceptional phase the country is going through.

During the meeting, al-Aidarous praised the former deputy speaker Mohsen al-Alofi’s efforts during the past period.

He confirmed that the Shura Council would continue to assist the Supreme Political Council and the Salvation Government by submitting reports, proposals and opinions in accordance with its constitutional and legal functions.
