Saudi-led mercenary leaders lead coup against “al-Zubaidi and Ben Brik” UAE-backed leaders

ADEN, Aug. 6 (YPA) – Prominent leaders from Shabwah and Dhalea provinces are seeking to overthrow the president and deputy of the so-called Southern Transitional Council under the pretext of avoiding the collapse of the council, especially after the forced displacement of the people of the southern provinces of Aden.

Southern media quoted council sources as saying that a number of leaders had begun to consider calling for a general conference in Aden to form an “inclusive national council” instead of the current leaders accused of using the council as a tool to implement the UAE’s agenda.

The media revealed contacts between dissident leaders about the so-called current Transitional Council, most notably Sheikh Saleh bin Farid al-Awlaqi and the southern leader of Yafa’a Sheikh Abdul-Rabb al-Naqeeb, along with Nasser al-Khubji.

Ben Farid, one of the most prominent transitional pillars in the occupied province of Shabwah, stepped up his attack on the council.
He criticized the displacement campaigns against the people of the northern provinces of Aden, demanding that they be quickly stopped and those involved brought to justice.

According to the southern media reports, Sheikh Al-Naqeeb accused southern forces, which he did not name, of turning the case into an auction to trade it for 1,000 Saudi riyals.
The reports added that Sheikh Al-Naqeeb vowed to counter any foreign attempts to impose what he described as “guardianship” on the south in an indirect reference to the UAE and Saudi occupation, which attacked their policy.

He also downplayed the council’s value after the killing of “Abu al- Yamamah”, noting that its leaders would not represent any future impact.

Al-Khubji’s position is not yet known, but media reports have suggested that he resign. The Council was deeply divided at the military and political levels.

On the political front, leaders from the first tier of the Transitional Council joined an international conference in Jordan last week for most of the southern powers, boycotted by leaders from Dhalea .

Last Thursday, forces affiliated with the so-called security belt issued a summons for Sheikh Saleh bin Farid al-Awlaqi for interrogation.

On the military front, the southern media showed that the recent developments have caused a great division within the transitional factions, where factions announced their rejection of the displacement and forced deportation sought by other factions in the Yafa’a Belt forces and a second involved under the director Security of Aden.

The council, which was established in 2016 with the support of the United Arab Emirates, has further cracked Saudi moves to dismantle it, which began with attacks in Aden and targeted the most loyal factions of Ben Brik and Zubeidi, and the southern leader Abdul Rabeq al-Naqeeb did not hide his accusation that Saudi Arabia is behind it.

Sources also reported the success of Saudi Arabia in purchasing leaders in the first tier of the council to culminate in the success of Saudi Arabia in joining the elite Shabwanian and Al-Hadrami forces to join “the exiled Hadi’s forces” as it prepares to include other units in Aden with the expiry of the deadline set by the Council to demobilize its elements and hand over weapons or joining the “Hadi” forces of Saudi Arabia.

The Media report said that although the circle around Ben Brik and Zubeidi is tight, they are still betting on an “Emirati miracle” to bring them back to power that the exiled Hadi has took.
