SANAA, Aug. 1 (YPA) – The Parliament in its concluding meeting for the current session on Thursday listened to the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee’s report on lifting the parliamentary immunity for some of the Parliament members (MPs) abroad.
At the meeting, the Parliament’s Speaker and members renewed the call for the MPs who are abroad to revise their attitudes, return to the homeland and not to be involved behind Saudi-led aggression coalition’s conspiratorial schemes against Yemen and its unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Parliament Speaker Yahya al-Ra’i stressed that the Parliament members represent the Yemeni people and that any wasting of the national sovereignty is a violation of the constitutional oath and the provisions of the Constitution and laws in force.
Al-Ra’i confirmed the Parliament’s adherence to its position calling for the dialogue and political solution to stop the aggression and lift the blockade. “Yemeni people extend a hand to a just and honorable peace that preserves their dignity, unity, sovereignty and stability,” he said.
In this context, the Parliament decided to defer the discussion of the report to another session.
