Update 1: Yemeni army inflicts heavy casualties on mercenaries in Dhalea

DHALEA, July 30 (YPA) – The Yemeni army backed by popular committees on Tuesday were able to repel a large-scale attack carried out by mercenaries hired by Saudi-led coalition in Dhalea province, southern Yemen, a military official told Yemen Press Agency

According to a military official, the mercenaries tried to advance from several tracks on army positions and committees in Qataba, but were forced into retreat.

The official confirmed that dozens of the mercenaries, including leaders were killed and wounded during the attack.

The army forces destroyed two military pickups. The first one was destroyed by a kornet rocket while the second one was destroyed with an explosive device as they were passing in Qattabah front.

He also pointed out that the army and popular committees launched a counterattack against the mercenaries in the same front, stressing that the enemy suffered heavy losses in lives and military equipment.
