Yemen’s army spokesman: Army forces capture 40 Saudi-hired mercenaries in Asir

SANAA, July 30 (YPA) – Yemeni armed forces spokesman Brigadier Yahya Sare’e on Tuesday announced that the Yemeni army and popular committees have captured more than 40 of Saudi-led coalition forces, and dozens were killed and wounded in Asir region.

“The enemy forces suffered significant losses of life and equipment after a successful draw operation off the western circle of Asir region during infiltration attempts carried out by Saudi-hired mercenaries towards Qutaber and Monabbih border districts,” Yahya Sare’e said in a statement on .

He confirmed that a number of armored vehicles were destroyed and dozens of mercenaries were killed and wounded during the operations in the Axis of Asir.

He pointed out that the warplanes launched a number of raids to back its mercenaries, but they failed to make any progress on the ground.

The military spokesman revealed that the army forces, backed by popular committees, were able to seize large military equipment for enemy forces during the operation.

He hailed the honorable and heroic role of the tribesmen for their honorable positions in confronting the Saudi-led aggression forces.

He said that the military media would soon release footage scenes showing a large number of mercenaries captured during the operation.
