ICRC calls for ending suffering of Yemenis

SANAA, July 30 (YPA) – The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Tuesday called on all parties to the conflict in Yemen to find an agreement to put an end to the suffering of the population, after more than four years of the war led by Saudi-UAE coalition.

“The attacks on markets, airports, residential areas, hospitals and schools are a violation of international law,” the ICRC office in Yemen said on Twitter.

On Monday, the coalition forces committed a crime against citizens in Al Thabet market in Qutaber district of Saada, northern Yemen, which left 40 dead and wounded, including 18 children.

The war launched by the Saudi-UAE coalition since March 2015 has led to a deterioration in humanitarian and economic situations and health services and has caused the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, according to UN reports.
