Clashes outbreak between pro-coalition armed factions in Taiz

TAIZ, April 14 (YPA) Fierce clashes broke out on Saturday between UAE-backed gunmen loyal to former president’s nephew, Tariq Afash, and southern soldiers led by Raed al-Yafei in the coastal district of Mocha in Taiz province, according to local sources.

The clashes occurred after a driver of military vehicle belonging to Tariq’s troops ran over a soldier at a security point supervised by al-Yafei.

According to the sources, the forces run by al-Yafei sent immediately four military vehicles to pursue Tariq’s military vehicle to Mocha, where there were violent clashes between the two sides resulted in several dead and wounded.

Tariq’s troops backed by the United Arab Emirates, a key member in Saudi-led coalition, continue to provoke the people of the southern provinces on all fronts they joined, which is rejected by southern leaders who continue to accuse the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh’s regime and its symbols of destroying Yemen’s north and south.
