Saudi-backed militias will be deterred in Mahra: Sheikh al-Huraizi

MAHRA, July 21 (YPA) – Sheikh Ali Salem al-Huraizi, former undersecretary of Mahra province, on Sunday said that the people of Mahra would take measures to deter the Saudi-backed militias from tampering with the province.

“Mahra tribes will mobilize to al-Ghaydah city and will put guards in all neighborhoods to protect citizens from the militias’ tampering,” said al-Huraizi in a press statement.

Al- Huraizi added that Saudi Arabia and its militias had undermined the role of the judiciary in the province by raiding homes of citizens, kidnapping journalists and terrorizing civilians.

He denounced the statements made by media loyal to Hadi’s government, which quoted remarks of a government official attacking peaceful protestors against the Saudi existence in the province.

“We are not surprised by such statements that come from TV channels and news agencies of Hadi government, because they are run by Saudi intelligence,” al-Huraizi said.
