Criminal gang leader killed in Ibb

IBB, July 16 (YPA) – A criminal gang’s leader was killed in armed confrontations with the security forces in al-Odien district of Ibb province in central Yemen on Tuesday.

The killing of the gang’s leader named “Omar Aidha” came after 10 arrest warrants issued against him on charges of murder and banditry, a security source told Yemen Press Agency.

Aidha was killed and a number of his gang members were arrested during a crackdown carried out by the security forces to pursue the gang, which was practicing banditry acts against citizens and stealing them under duress, he elaborated.
