Update 1:Dozens of Saudi army soldiers killed in Asir fronts
ASIR, July 15 (YPA) – Dozens of Saudi army soldiers and mercenaries were killed and wounded on Sunday during an infiltration attempt towards positions of the Yemeni army and popular committees in the frontier region of Asir, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.
The Yemeni army backed by popular committees repelled a large-scale infiltration by the Saudi army mercenaries in the eastern Majaza in Asir, inflicting heavy losses on the Saudi army, the official explained.
“The army and committees units besieged group of the Saudi army mercenaries in the eastern Majaza in Asir,” the official said in a statement.
He added that the army’s artillery pounded positions and fortifications of the Saudi army mercenaries in the eastern Majaza, killing and wounding several of them.
Meanwhile, the army and popular committees forces carried out an offensive with participation of the engineering unit on the Saudi army mercenaries’ sites in the western Majaza in Asir, which resulted in dozens of dead and wounded in ranks of the mercenaries.
On Saturday, the army backed by popular committees launched three offensives against sites of the Saudi army mercenaries off Alib crossing and in the eastern Majaza in Asir, inflicting heavy losses on them.
On a daily basis, the Saudi Army loses more soldiers and fighters, including foreign and local mercenaries, and military vehicles in the attacks carried out by units of the Yemeni army and popular committees, whether by artillery shells, missiles or drones.
