ADEN, July 9 (YPA) – Tensions escalated inside Saudi-led coalition’s brigade in Badr military camp in Aden following a rebellion of the leaders of battalions and their troops as protest against their expulsion from the brigade’s leadership and looting of their salaries, threatening to widen the circle of infighting and ongoing clashes in the city to a large war.
A military source in Aden province said that “The situation in the 89 Infantry Brigade which is a part the fourth military region is witnessing defections among its military commanders following a dispute between the battalion commanders and the chief of staff with the Brigadier General Nasser Ahmed al-Ja’aimlani.
The source added that “the Major General al-Ja’aimlani has prevented the disbursement of funds to a number of brigade commanders and their allocations and salaries before expelling them from the camp in front of their personnel and breaking the coffers that were in their possession and looting them after the dismissal of some 3,600 members of the brigade arbitrarily.”
Battalion commanders confirmed that they were expelled during a gathering in the field, rejecting the abuses of al-Ja’aimlani
They warned the command of the fourth military region against “grave consequences for his actions and corruption of the oppressive army, and that they will not stand idly by if he is not deterred”
Battalion commanders held the command of the region “the responsibility of the blood that will be taken to extract their usurped rights”.
28 officers and commanders at brigade accused Brigadier-General al-Jaimalani of excluding all battalion commanders, withdraws vehicles, fuel and food allowances, and steal about 200 million riyals per month from the allocations and salaries of soldiers, battalion commanders, and 11 of the brigade’s mechanisms were taken to his home.
Meanwhile, the ongoing clashes between the so-called “exiled Hadi forces” supported by Saudi Arabia and the forces of the so-called “security belt” funded by UAE have been escalating since nine days in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Othman and Dar Saad district, leaving civilian casualties.
