22 killed, wounded by explosion in mosque in Afghanistan

SANAA, July 6 (YPA) – At least two people were killed and 20 others injured when a landmine planted by gunmen exploded in a mosque in the eastern province of Ghazni, Eastern Afghanistan, provincial government spokesman Aref Nuri said on Saturday.

The blast occurred on Friday evening when worshipers were inside the mosque in Ghazni, the capital of the state, killing two people instantly and wounding 20 others, some of them in critical condition, the official said.

The official pointed out that all the victims were civilians.

Although no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, the local population noted  that the Taliban or the Takfiri group may be behind the attack because both groups have claimed responsibility for such bombings in mosques.
