Parliament listens to memo on draft amendment of Land Transport Law

SANAA, July 3 (YPA) – The Parliament in its meeting on Wednesday listened to an explanatory memorandum from Transport Minister on a draft amendment of some provisions and articles of the Land Transport Law No. 33 for the year 2003 and its amendments.

The memo referred to the importance of working towards achieving many objectives, foremost of which is to organize and supervise the land transport activities and services in all provinces and land ports so as to enhance its role in supporting economic and social development within the framework of the State’s general policy and the provisions of the law and other legislations in force.

The Parliament members held a general debate in principle and approved to refer the draft amendment to the relevant committee for further study and submission of the results to the Parliament at another session.
