Deputy director of security in Marib province killed by tribesmen

MARIB, July 3 (YPA) – Deputy Director of security in Marib city was killed on Wednesday by tribesmen, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the sources, Colonel “Mujahid Mabkhout Sharif” was killed during clashes between “security agencies loyal to coalition” and tribesmen.

The clashes continued for the third consecutive day; the sources added.

The sources said that fierce clashes took place south of Marib in the area of al-Ashraf between a security campaign and tribal men from Al al-Amir.

On Monday, tribal militants from the al-Amir tribe targeted a military pickup south of Marib, killing two soldiers and wounding others.
