Mukalla residents protest against corruption of UAE-backed council leaders

HADHRMOUT, June 27 (YPA) – Hundreds of local residents in al-Mukalla city, the capital of Hadhramout province, took to the streets on Wednesday to protest against the corruption of the so-called Southern Transitional Council.

During the rally, demonstrators set fire to leaders’ photos of the Southern Transitional Council funded by the UAE occupation forces.

They described the STC’s leaders as thieves.

Protesters further set fire to photos of a number of the STC presidency members amid popular chants opposing the occupation policy.

They lifted banners describing the transitional council leadership as corrupt and thieves.
