Mercenary southern commander killed in Jizan

JIZAN, June 26 (YPA) – A military commander of Saudi army mercenaries was killed on Wednesday by Yemeni army fire in behind-border fronts in Jizan region, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

The mercenary Lt. Col. Talib Hassan al-Hamed was also a member of local leadership of the Southern Transitional Council and one of commanders of the so-called “southern special forces” in Jizan fronts, the official explained.

Saudi Arabia has turned to recruit mercenaries from the Yemeni southern provinces to defend its territory against the incursion of the Yemeni army backed by popular committees in behind-border fronts.
