Health Minister meets IOM Yemen Chief of Mission

SANAA, June 26 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakil met on Wednesday with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Yemen Chief of Mission David Derthick.

The meeting discussed the cooperation between the Ministry and the Organization in the health areas and the possibility of increasing support for the health sector.

In the meeting, the Health Minister indicated to the need to support efforts to combat malaria, AIDS and tuberculosis, as well as to provide health services to displaced people in several provinces.

Al- Mutawakil pointed to the health situation in the country as a result of the ongoing aggression and siege, which requires expanding the organization support for the health sector, affirming the facilitation of the organization’s work in Yemen.

For his part, Derthick hailed to the level of cooperation between the ministry and the organization, confirming the organization’s readiness to support the health sector.
