Unknown gunmen blow up oil pipeline in Shabwah

SHABWAH, June 12 (YPA) – Unknown Gunmen blew up an oil pipeline Shabwah Province, southeastern Yemen, local sources reported on Tuesday morning.

According to the sources, the gunmen planted an improvised explosive device IED under the pipe, causing an explosion of the oil pipeline as well as causing a massive fire in the area.

The pipeline transporting oil from the Aqla field to the area of Ayadh in Jardan district, and then through an oil pipeline from Ayadh to Alnshimaya area in Rudum district in a length of 330 km.

The pipeline exports 15,000 to 17,000 barrels of oil from the oil fields on a daily basis, according to an official source at the Yemeni Ministry of Oil.
