100,000 patients threatened with death in Yemen: official
SANAA, April (YPA) – Spokesman of Health and Population ministry Dr. Abdul Hakim Al-Kuhlani on Sunday said in an interview with Yemen Press Agency that Yemen is suffering a humanitarian disaster, due to the collapse of the health system, which resulted in the death of more than 17,000 patients.
“100,000patients are threatened to die, due to the closure of Sanaa international airport,” he said.
“More than 79 employees of health sector were killed, 216 others wounded and at least 48,000 employees have not received salaries since one year and a half,” he said.
Saudi fighter jets destroyed totally or partially 420 health facilities, including 235 health units, 2 oxygen factories, 65 ambulances, and more than 50% of health facilities stopped providing health services, due to the Saudi-led airstrikes for more than three years, he said.
