Abdul Salam: Saudi Arabia, UAE occupy Mahrah and Socotar

SANAA, June 4 (YPA) – The head of the National Negotiation Delegation, Mohammed Abdel Salam, has on Tuesday revealed that Saudi Arabia and the UAE have continued to penetrate militarily in the governorates of al-Mahrah and Socotra.

“The movement of Saudi Arabia and the UAE militaries in the Yemeni governorates of Socotra and Mahrah reveals the nature of the aggression against Yemen as an act of aggression and expansionism,” Mohamed Abdel Salam said in a tweet.

Abdul Salam further unveiled the cover of the Saudi-Emirati military action, saying: “the forces of conquest infiltrate those remote areas from conflict under the slogan of “reconstruction”. Our Yemeni people in all categories cannot be deceived by these false claims.”

The Saudi government seeks to implement its own special agenda of extending an oil pipeline to the coast, straight through the Yemeni border province with the Sultanate of Oman.

However, this plan was strongly rejected by people through a series of protests.

Mohamed Abdel Salam also condemned the violence in Khartoum and the storming of security at the protesters ‘ sit-in in front of the army headquarters, where scores of civilians were killed and wounded.

Abdul Salam described what was going on in Sudan as a power-twisting process over popular demands.

“The coup d’etat in Khartoum, carried out for Saudi-Emirati money, puts the country at serious risk,” he said
