Health Minister calls Yemeni medical cadres abroad to return home

SANAA, May 9 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha al-Mutwakel on Thursday called on the Yemeni medical cadres in abroad to return to the homeland to serve the people, especially in the current stage.

During evening party organized by Kuwait Hospital in the capital Sanaa, Dr. al-Mutwakel explained that 70 percent of the specialized and nursing cadres had left the country despite the urgent need for them in light of the continued aggression and siege.

The minister hailed the steadfastness of medical staff and nurses at home and their keenness to provide medical services and alleviate the suffering of citizens despite the suspension of salaries and operational expenses of hospitals.

Dr. al-Mutwakel urged the Hospital’s leadership to intensify training courses and rehabilitation for nursing staff and to improve performance and provide health services for the sick and wounded, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
