Health Ministry discusses health, economic effects of smuggled medicines

SANAA, May 5 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha al-Mutwakil on Sunday chaired a meeting in Sanaa to discuss health and economic effects of smuggled medicines and the difficulties faced by the health sector in this aspect.

The meeting reviewed procedures taken to control medicines and mechanisms of controlling pharmacies and medicines stores.

At the meeting, the Minister stressed the importance of identifying and classifying contraband and counterfeit drugs in the market, conducting analyzes of seized drugs and proposing appropriate actions.
