Mahra’s sons call for demonstration to reject Saudi moves

MAHRA, May 2 (YPA) – The sons of Hoof district in Mahra province, east of Yemen, called for a demonstration and sit-in to reject the recent Saudi moves at the port of Sharafat in the province.

The demonstration statement said, “A mass rally will be held on Thursday, starting from the junction of Jardafot towards the market of the district, accompanied by the establishment of a mass festival in the market.”

The statement also called for “the erection of tents, and sit in front of the gate of the port of Sharafat; from Friday afternoon.”

This escalation comes from the people of Balhaf district in response to Saudi attempts in recent days to bring Saudi forces into the district as part of its efforts to control the province of Mahra.
