Washington boasts to support White Helmets in Syria

SANAA, May 1 (YPA) – Washington has reiterated its support for the “White Helmets” organization, linked to the terrorist front of Jabhat al-Nusra, which is operating under “humanitarian slogans” in the northern Syria-controlled areas.

In a tweet, the Department of State said that senior officials from the US  met with the “White Helmets” group last week to discuss what it called “humanitarian needs”,

“We are proud to support the White Helmets,” it added.

In a statement earlier, the White Helmets admitted that it had saved thousands of al-Nusra’s followers in Idlib province from the battles of “Jabhat al-Nusra”, the “National Liberation Front” militia and various conflicting parties in the province.

While the State Department announced last year that President Donald Trump has earmarked about $6.6 million to fund the “White Helmets”.

The so-called White Helmets organization played a role in fabrication evidence to accuse the Syrian government of involvement in a chemical attack in Syria.
