2 killed, 4 injured in shooting at UNC Charlotte

SANAA, May 1 (YPA) – At least two people were killed and at least four were injured in a shooting at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte on Tuesday, police officials said

“Two people were killed and four others were injured, two of them are in critical condition seriously, in a shooting on Tuesday at Charlotte University in North Carolina,” Reuters quoted the Emergency Management Services agency in Mecklenburg as saying.

Local media reported that a suspected person had been in custody over the incident and believed to be a student at the university.

A shooting took place at around 5:45 p.m. (21:45 GMT) near the university’s administrative building and a person was arrested, the Charlotte TV station said.

Emergency Management Services on Twitter confirmed the deaths of two people and the transfer of four others to a nearby hospital for treatment, two of them critically injured.
