20 suspects arrested in connection with Sri Lanka bombings

SANAA, April 27 (YPA) – Police in Sri Lanka on Saturday have announced the arrest of 20 suspects over their involvement in the Easter attacks in the past 24 hours.

According to police, Sri Lanka has witnessed a series of bombings on Friday, targeting the eastern city of Kalmunai.

“Twenty suspects have been arrested in security operations throughout the island over the past 24 hours,” the official television said on Twitter.

The island authorities continued to carry out large-scale security operations to apprehend those involved in the preparation and implementation of the Easter attacks on churches and hotels in the capital, which have killed and injured hundreds of people.
